You independently operate and maintain at least one process, equipment or systems following autonomous maintenance (AM) standards and use your technical skills to improve line and/or system performance to meet business needs.

How you will contribute

You are a key ingredient in changing how the world snacks. With coaching, you will operate and maintain equipment to deliver on our safety, quality, cost, delivery, sustainability and morale targets. You will use execute all standard work processes on your equipment using AM (autonomous maintenance) and PM (progressive maintenance) standards and ensure that safety processes are observed, and that quality assurance activities are performed. You will understand the losses in their area and equipment and report them.

More about this role

Applicants for this position must be available to work on all shifts, including Days, Afternoons & Midnight Shifts as well as Continental and/or Weekends.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Set up case packing machine; change top and bottom tape when finished or broken.
  • Remove trays of cookies onto table or skid quickly and efficiently
  • Hand pack cases onto skids as needed; move skids as needed using pump-truck.
  • Must be able to lift bins/packages of approximately 20-25kg up to 170 cm high, continuously.
  • Able to check code dates on the shipper and products.
  • Able to read, understand and respond to computer information displays and instructions.
  • Bring bins to feeders, pack cookies to bins, remove full bins to skids.
  • Communicate with Line lead regarding any line problems/concerns.
  • Verify product to shipper.
  • Attention to housekeeping; keep area clean and neat at all times and
  • Job requires frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
  • Able to raise Abnormalities/ defects tags on the case packing machine.
  • Should be able to follow the Autonomous Maintenance work process (5s,CIL)

Job Qualifications:

  • Strong team player who collaborates effectively with others
  • Mechanical aptitude preferred.
  • Must be able to work on all shifts.
  • Able to perform physical requirements of role.
  • Uses proper lifting and reaching techniques.
  • Must be a strong performer who demonstrates reliability, a good attendance record and attention to safety and GMP’s.
  • Able to communicate clearly in spoken and written English with other team members and management.
  • Able to accurately follow a Daily Production Schedule (DPS) and labor schedule.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s and WHMIS
