64 hours per bi-weekly pay period
Day Shift
Monday-Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

The CLINIC PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT - Pain Management / Prior Authorization works under the supervision of the provider(s) and manager and is responsible for maintaining a steady patient flow.

Responsibilities of this position include:

50% of the position

  • Assists with scheduling appointments for office visits/referrals/diagnostic testing/therapies/surgery. Responsible for working with the preauthorization department/insurance companies to initiate referrals and to obtain approvals/pre-certifications and prior authorizations for medical care and treatment.

40% of the position

  • Rooms patients and reviews health history, addresses preventative maintenance issues and is knowledgeable of age specific growth and development as related to the neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient as appropriate. Accurately collects and records data as appropriate.
  • Accurately collects and documents vital signs and other measurements specific to the patient.
  • Follows proper PPE usage including donning and doffing.
  • Performs laboratory testing covered by CLIA, prepares specimens for transport and complies with all quality measures.
  • Keeps all patient care areas and patient care equipment cleaned and stocked with appropriate levels of medical supplies.

10% of the position

  • Other duties as assigned.
