Material Handler

Since 1976, Natvar, A TekniPlex Healthcare Company, located in Clayton, NC, has been producing medical tubing for a wide range of medical device applications including IV therapy, respiratory, dialysis, anesthesia, diagnostic and surgical equipment.

Material Handler

Monday - Friday

8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. plus overtime as needed

Primary Responsibilities and Expectations

• Verify accuracy of shipments by counting, weighing, or measuring items and comparing size, weight, description, and code numbers with information on invoice or packing slip and purchase orders; record any discrepancies or damage.
• Inspect shipments for damage and defects.
• Move inventory to various locations manually and by operating mechanical equipment, including fork lift, pallet jack, and handcart.
• Read and fill requisitions for stock items. Verify accuracy of orders pulled.
• Load and unload delivery truck by hand or by use of forklift.
• Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties including lifting, carrying, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications / Physical Demands

• High school graduate or equivalent GED certification.
• Requires at least one year experience in a warehouse environment and experience with UPS/FedEx shipments.
• Must be self-motivated and have good organizational skills.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.
• Basic computer skills a plus.
• Basic English communication skills. Ability to understand safety rules and regulations, work orders, operating procedures and training materials. Ability to legibly complete reports.
• Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, bend, crouch, reach, kneel, use hands & fingers, talk and hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ambient temperature can be as high as 110° during summer months.
