Join us as our new Material Handler

This position works under general supervision and is primarily responsible for loading, unloading, and moving materials and finished products within production and warehouse, preparing components for production, and packing orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of customer requests while maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse.

In this role you'll make an impact by:

Reading work orders or follow oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
Loading and unloading materials onto or from pallets, tubs, racks, and shelves.
Loading materials into trailers; inspecting trailers for proper shipping conditions.
Unloading materials from trailers, inspecting deliveries and shipments for accuracy and damage and prepare proper documents.
Locating stock. Counting, weighing and recording number of units of material moved, handled, or shipped. Prep materials for shipment by palletizing, banding, wrapping and labeling shipments. Pick and package finished products per work orders.
Maintaining clean area per Master Sanitation specifications. Complying with all departmental safety and sanitation requirements.
Maintaining proper temperature for products while outside of temperature-controlled environments.
Verifying and reporting cold trailers and cold room are functioning correctly and are at safe temperatures to Specialist on duty.
Conveying materials to proper storage area. Rotating stock as needed. Optimize space utilization.
Operating powered industrial lifts or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials and products. Perform PM to lift equipment.
Responsible for cycle counting program/inventory control report to area Management. Produce an “end of month” inventory on a monthly basis.
Routine inspections of trolleys and repair as necessary.
May be called upon to assist other department in unskilled job duties.
Overtime hours may be needed to support department demands.

To succeed you must hold:

Ability to read, write and speak English.
Ability to operate industrial trucks or electric hoists to assist in loading or moving materials.
Possess basic computer skills to navigate in email and data systems.
SAP knowledge preferred. Knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of GMP, safety, sanitation, and Hazardous Materials per DOT requirements.
Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from drivers, other production-related departments (i.e. Customer Service) and co-workers in a tactful manner.
Ability to use a calculator to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, including conversions to metric weight.
These characteristics are normally acquired through a High School Diploma or GED with at least six months of related material handling experience.
