Brief Position Description:

To monitor and control the operation of all equipment related to the loading and packaging of bulk and bagged cement.

Individual accountabilities

Nature and Scope

  • To comply with all company safety and environmental requirements in the performance of the job. To monitor and control the operation of all equipment related to the loading and packaging of bulk and bagged cement.
  • To load product by rail and truck in conformance with sales orders.
  • To perform light and preventative maintenance and adjustments to cement loading equipment.
  • To insure that proper product is being distributed by automation into proper containers.
  • To perform clean up and removal of product blockages in equipment and facilities.
  • To perform physical inventories of all pack house and bulk silo materials.
  • To handle, distribute and maintain all pack house materials such as pallets, bags, etc.
  • To work effectively as a team member in the areas of safety, environment and communications in order to meet the goals of the shipping department and plant.
  • To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.

Specific Accountabilities
Bulk Rail

  • Operate railcar mover to place empty railcars at the proper loading silo.
  • With sales orders provided by management, load railcars to specified tonnages. Place railcars in staging areas requested by distribution department.
  • Enter appropriate information into SAP bulk loading software, print BOL.
  • Ensure a sample is taken of every other railcar and stored in proper location
  • Verify car tops are clean of buildup and clean as necessary.
  • Provide distribution and supervisors with car count at beginning of day.
  • Provide distribution with switch list at end of day.
  • Switch Southern Lime railcars as required.

Education

High School Diploma.

Technical knowledge and certifications

  • Previous terminal operations or locomotive experience is preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to carry out all the major requirements listed above, with appropriate training.
  • Ability to demonstrate safe work practices.
  • Must be able to demonstrate reliability, based on previous attendance record.
  • Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Must have good oral and written communication skills.
  • Must interact well with a wide range of difference personality types.

Area of experience

  • 0-3 Years.
  • Operation of light mobile equipment including Forklift, Track mobile, etc.

English C2 Advance
