Job Description

The Quality Inspector is responsible for using variable measuring instruments to inspect parts, products and/or processes and ensure conformance with standards. The position reports to the Quality and Continuous Improvement Manager.

Key Accountabilities

  • Uses fixed or variable measuring instruments to inspect parts, products and/or processes and ensure conformance with standards.
  • Checks for irregularities and defects.
  • Compares products with parts lists or sample models to ensure completion of assembly.
  • Verifies specified dimensions on products or materials.
  • May be responsible for setting gages to gage manual, engineering specifications, and/or blueprint requirements.
  • May be responsible for calibration and maintenance of new and existing measurement devices.
  • May adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to meet the more complex requirements of the position.
  • Duties and tasks are frequently nonroutine.
  • Resolves most questions and problems, and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels.
  • Works under minimal supervision.
  • May assist in orienting and training lower level employees.
  • Follow all safety rules
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Work cooperatively in a group setting
  • Ability to work unsupervised
  • Ability to follow directions both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with a dynamic environment with changing tasks and priorities.


Qualifications/Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of related experience required
  • Ability to provide direction, implement ideas, and adapt to changing business environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and cross functionally.

Salary Range: The compensation range(s) identified above are a good faith estimate of the salary expected to be paid as performed from these locations. Actual salaries may vary based on a variety of factors including but not limited to skillset, experience, education and training; and other relevant business and organizational factors. Most candidates will start in the lower half of the range.
