General purpose of the job
To supervise packing and shipping of all produced products, both bulk and bagged products, and to work with plant operations personnel to coordinate grinding schedule for the plant. To serve as a role model in the areas of leadership, teamwork, customer focus, continuous improvement, safety, and environmental stewardship to ensure alignment with the company’s vision and critical success factors.

Individual accountabilities

  • Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner. Observes safety regulations and established operational procedures at all times. Promotes safety practices and efforts throughout the plant.
  • Presents a positive, professional attitude, and communicates information regarding plant procedures and strategies into all involved.
  • Maintains close contact with all phases of plant operation and informs the appropriate personnel of situations detrimental to product quality and production.
  • Work with purchasing department to coordinate and oversee all raw material and fuel deliveries for the shipping department within the constraints of the packing and shipping storage capacity and permit restrictions to ensure sufficient raw materials and fuels are available at all times.
  • Knowledge of silo and bin materials, including complete familiarity with daily capacities of each silo or storage bin and when it will be filled or empty.
  • Knowledge of what product is made.
  • To ensure effective utilization of equipment and people, including maintenance, troubleshooting and building housekeeping.
  • Communicates with the Production Department on any changes that have to be made to process.
  • Maintains close contact with all phases of plant operation and informs the appropriate personnel of situations detrimental to product quality and production.
  • Coordinates with Production to maintain product inventories.
  • Participates in the development and implementation of laboratory standards, production targets and procedures that support effective cement manufacture and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Initiate, direct and participate in studies designed to optimize cement manufacturing.
  • To ensure effective utilization of equipment and people, including maintenance, troubleshooting and building housekeeping.
  • Participate in developing the capital and operating budgets in order to continuously improve the efficiency of the shipping and raw materials receiving.
  • Provide leadership to department employees by directing, coaching, supporting and delegating as the situation requires.
  • Ensure products meet or exceed customer expectations.
  • To ensure effective utilization of equipment and people.
  • Ensure department operates in the most cost-effective manner to meet department and plant goals.
  • Participate on Plant CI Teams.
  • Participates in the improvement of the Plant’s technical capabilities in Shipping.

Education
  • Bachelor's Degree.

Technical knowledge and certifications
  • Detailed knowledge of plant raw materials, products, quality standards.
  • Proficient with MS applications, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of concrete productions and production processes.
  • Analytical abilities.
  • Problem solving: Ability to conduct Root Cause Analysis for shipping related issues.
  • Effectively communicate, coordinate, interface, and correspond with customers and plant staff.
  • Prior experience in a cement-manufacturing environment with responsibility for shipping and logistics.

Area of experience
  • 3 - 6 years.
  • Experience in cement quality control or cement manufacturing process.

Annual Salary Range from $78,448.03 to $108,955.60
