We are seeking a hardworking and dedicated colleague to join our friendly and enthusiastic retail team, in our flagship shop and warehouse at Creekmoor.


This is a dual role with time shared between the role of a Warehouse Assistant and Shop Assistant. Working in an extremely busy and fast-paced environment, you will be an integral part of the team who are responsible for receiving and moving large volumes of donations, including deliveries of furniture, that have been dropped off by our customers, supporters, and contractors.


You will be required to sort and process the donations and stock in our warehouse, as well as help moving furniture to replace sold items on the shop floor.


You will also be working with colleagues on the shop floor creating a brilliant shopping environment and providing an excellent customer experience. Here you will have the opportunity to showcase your creativity and flair, maintaining a well-presented shop, whilst helping to maximise the sales and profits.


As a significant portion of this role will involve lifting and moving goods, including furniture, to/from the shop warehouse, manual handling training will be provided.


Ideally, you will have warehouse experience as well as retail experience, with excellent knowledge of health & safety in the workplace.


As a first point of contact, whether at the back door accepting donations or on the shop floor, when you meet and greet our donors and customers excellent communication skills are essential. You will also be expected to understand and advise donors about Gift Aid and its importance to the charity.


A strong work ethic, good organisational skills, the ability to apply sound judgement and be able to work under pressure, are all key requirements of the role.

The contracted hours for this position can be between 25 and 30 hours per week, depending on the preference of the successful candidate. Hours will be based on a rota, covering shop opening hours (Monday – Sunday).
