Position Highlights
The Business Team supporting the Schools of Animal & Comparative Biomedical Sciences (ACBS), Norton School of Human Ecology (HECL), and the Department of Agricultural Education, Technology & Innovation (AETI) are looking for an Accounting Assistant III to support the daily functions of our academic, research, and extension operations. This position works directly with the Business Manager, faculty, and staff to ensure accurate and timely submission of financial documents in UAccess Financials, review of travel processing and reconciliation, along with other administrative duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

Create accurate and timely financial transactions and account reconciliations:

  • Monitor/process P-Card reconciliations
  • Process requisitions and purchase orders for units
  • Assist faculty with the travel request process as needed
  • Process cash receipts for gifts, events, etc.
  • Set up payments for domestic and international vendors
  • Process vendor payments such as utilities, IB’s for campus charges
  • Monitor and facilitate payments for subaward contracts
  • Clear and consistent communication with faculty and staff.

Departmental payroll submissions and approvals:

  • Notify unit staff of payroll deadlines
  • Notify individual employees for hourly entries
  • Notify supervisors to approve employee time sheets
  • Monitor time sheets and exceptions to assure accurate payroll.
  • Administrative/Office duties such as order office and department supplies, unit surplus property liaison and key liaison.

Minimum Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or equivalent learning attained through experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with UAccess Financials and Employee system is preferred.
