SUPPORT SERVICES ASSOCIATE - 18 Month Contract
PLASP Child Care Services is a charitable organization operating on a not-for-profit basis, providing high quality early learning and child care, for children up to 12 years of age. PLASP operates programs in more than 240 schools providing before and after school care. PLASP also operates 38 full-day early learning and child care centres and six EarlyON locations for children from 0 – 6 years.

Reporting to the Support Services Centre Supervisor, the Acting Support Services Associate will support parents, as well as program staff and Area Managers by handling inquiries and/or concerns via calls or emails from staff and parents in the Head Office from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm. This role will have a rotating shift schedule.
THE POSITION INVOLVES…
- Understands and supports PLASP’s mission, philosophy and services in order to provide high quality support and respond to callers
- Assist current and/or potential PLASP parents with their profile with PLASP’s online registration system
- Provides support and guidance to program staff in the event of emergencies during program time
- Provides excellent customer service with internal and external stakeholders
- Supports Staff and Area Managers on P.A. Days in ways such as contacting bus companies and other supports where needed
- Resolves problems by clarifying the parent’s concern; determining the cause of the problem; selecting and explaining the best solution to solve the problem; expediting correction or adjustment; following up to ensure resolution
- Responds to calls and emails with questions, concerns or complaints and escalates where appropriate,
- Supports parents, program staff and Area Managers regarding late pick ups
- Responds to inquiries from the community requesting information about PLASP Child Care Services
- Supports Area Managers and Programs staff during licensing visits
- Develops and maintains relationships with other departments and key stakeholders in order to share information and share resources
- Submits reports to internal and external stakeholders as required
- Represents PLASP at community events, as requested by the Manager Program Administration
THE PREFERRED CANDIDATE WILL HAVE…
- Post-Secondary Education
- Familiarity with child care and community service organizations
- Excellent oral and written communications skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- 1 - 3 years’ experience in a related customer service position-call-based experience is an asset
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
