GFL Environmental is currently seeking an Administrative Assistant to be based out of Timmins, ON location. The Administrative Assistant will provide administrative support to the branch with regards to Company communications, report preparation, correspondence, recruiting and safety department. Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Setup and coordinate initial training as required for all new facility staff
  • Assist customer service with operational inquiries and communicate customer requirements staff levels via the operation team
  • Document and maintain all SOP compliance records for the staff at the facility
  • Data entry of DVIRs into fleet management system
  • Filing and maintenance of drivers’ logs, run sheets and DVIRs
  • Assist Operations Managers with various day to day activities
  • Other tasks as assigned.
  • Filing, scanning and processing of work orders, waste transportation and lab analysis documentation as needed
  • Assist purchaser with procurement and receiving/distribution of tools/supplies to staff
  • Assist with maintenance of supplies inventory including physical counts, storage and replenishment
  • Assist purchaser with purchasing inquiries and communication with suppliers
  • Filing and documentation of purchasing receiving paperwork
  • Process monthly waste inventory accruals


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:


  • College Diploma or University Education
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in office administration, experience in transportation or waste management industry setting would be an asset
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety, Ministry of Transportation would be an asset
  • Minimum intermediate level proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Must be detail oriented and results oriented;
  • A professional, courteous and welcoming manner – both in person and on the telephone
  • Business administration and experience with financial statements preferred
