We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to provide comprehensive support to the Asset Integrity departmental management and team, ensuring smooth operations by managing office tasks, organizing events, and coordinating logistics, all while upholding Rio Tinto's safety policies and values. The Asset Integrity team is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and longevity of critical equipment and infrastructure, playing a key role in maintaining the smelter’s operational excellence.

Reporting to the Asset Integrity Director and working a Monday to Friday schedule, you will be:

  • Working in accordance with Rio Tinto's safety policies and values
  • Providing comprehensive administrative support to departmental management and the team.
  • Ordering office supplies, processing mail, managing work orders, and handling filing and document control.
  • Organizing events, meetings, travel arrangements, and manage expense reports.
  • Maintaining a focus on continuous improvement by recommending and implementing enhancements to office processes.
  • Collaborating effectively with stakeholders and service providers to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
  • Coordinating logistics for new employees, ensuring a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Managing the Director of Asset Integrity’s meeting schedule, including organizing meetings and preparing detailed meeting minutes.

What you’ll bring

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
  • A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary training in Administration is a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in an Administrative Assistant role, with proficiency in data entry and travel coordination.
  • Excellent computer skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams); SAP experience is an asset.
  • Clear, concise, and tactful communication skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments and prioritize effectively.
  • Valid driver’s license (minimum of an “N” in BC or equivalent).

The base salary range for this role is $62,240 - $93,360 CAD in addition to allowances, bonus, equity, health or retirement benefits, and any other discretionary benefits offered at Rio Tinto. Our base salary ranges are based on role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by the skills, experience, and impact you bring to the role.
