Administrative Assistant - Development Services and CAO - CONTRACT

The Town of Perth is accepting applications for the position of Administrative Assistant - Development Services and CAO. This is a contract position with a one-year duration with 35 hours per week.

Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Development Services and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the Director of Development Services and the Chief Administrative Officer. The Administrative Assistant is typically the first point of contact and is responsible for responding to telephone inquiries, general emails, and walk-in visits.

Qualifications:
1. A one-year Community College Certificate (minimum level of education required for position).
2. One (1) years’ experience required.
3. Sound organizational, verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
4. Complete computer literacy, including knowledge of spreadsheets and database software.
5. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with the public, user groups, etc.
6. Experience working in a law or realtor’s office, or engineering/architectural/planning firm or government office would be considered an asset.
7. Knowledge of maps, surveys, and construction plan reading would be considered an asset.
8. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discernment in all areas of work.

The wages range from $25.74 to $30.66 per hour. No additional benefits are associated with this position, save the 4% vacation pay. You may join the employer matched pension program (OMERS) at any time during the contract.
