Duties and Responsibilities
- Under the supervision of the Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs, position will provide administrative support to coordinate various academic functions.
- Collaborate with staff to design standard operating procedures for Banner scheduling input, Kuali Curriculum management, procurement, and other office procedures to improve efficiency and workflow.
- Assist supervisor with drafting articulation agreements, memorandums of understanding, and other related documents.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation required for accreditation and compliance purposes.
- Compile and analyze data for various reports, including budget management, private and government grants, enrollment, institutional metrics, etc.
- Assist supervisor with course scheduling.
- Respond to faculty, staff, students, and external partners, provide information and assistance as needed.
- Assist with promotion and implementation of special projects and events, such as, but not limited to, commencement, faculty development workshops, and academic recognition ceremonies. Assignments may include evening, weekend hours, and off-campus locations.
- Maintain accurate records and databases related to academic programs, faculty credentials, and other key academic information.
- Communicate with supervisor of possible problem areas on a timely basis. Evaluate specific conditions and situations and provides recommendations for improvement.
- Keep abreast of current UH policies, procedures, and regulations regarding academic affairs. Inform supervisor of best practices and updates to policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
- Possession of a baccalaureate degree in business, public administration, communication, education, social sciences, or related field and 1 year of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for business administration or educational program operations; or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
- Functional knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of business administration, educational program operations, or enrollment services demonstrated by knowledge, understanding and ability to apply concepts, terminology.
- Functional knowledge and understanding of principles, theories, federal and state laws, rules, regulations and systems associated with business administration or educational program operations.
- Demonstrated ability to recognize problems, identify possible causes and resolve the full range of problems that may commonly occur in the area of business administration or educational program operations.
- Demonstrated ability to understand oral and written documentation, write reports and procedures, and communicate effectively in a variety of situations.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external organizations, groups, team members and individuals.
- Demonstrated ability to operate a personal computer and apply word processing software.
Desirable Qualifications
- Business administration experience in a higher education setting, preferably within academic affairs or a related department.
- Knowledge of UH policies, procedures, and academic operations.
- Experience maintaining program records for education or training programs funded by private or government grants.
- Ability to effectively operate an electronic student database or record keeping system.
