We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Healthcare Facilitator to join our team at West London Forensic Services, St Bernard's Hospital . This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the recovery of individuals in a Men Medium and Low Secure mental health settings. As a Healthcare Facilitator, you will support service users by helping to address their physical, psychological, recreational, social and spiritual needs under the guidance of registered qualified professionals. You will work within a team that values respect, dignity, and person-centred care, making a difference in the lives of those we serve.
The post holder will carry out duties as designated by the nurse in charge and report on the patient's condition. They will maintain the orderliness, hygiene and safety of the ward environment and will be required to undertake routine clerical duties.

Care and Support : Contribute to meeting the psychological, physical, social, and spiritual needs of service users, ensuring they are treated with respect and dignity at all times.
Patient Monitoring : Assist in the monitoring and collection of data regarding individual service user progress and provide support to the registered nurse in the management of care.
Patient Safety : Recognise and appropriately respond to changes in a service user's physical or mental state, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
Environment Management : Assist in the smooth running of the clinical area by reporting any issues with the fabric or cleanliness of the environment.
Team Contribution : Participate in team discussions and meetings, offering insights to improve care and team dynamics.
Health Support : Support service users in maintaining physical health by assisting with hydration, nutrition, and personal hygiene.

The Healthcare Facilitator will provide support for service users in meeting their individual needs through person-centred care. You will work alongside registered staff to deliver care, contributing to both individual patient care plans and general ward duties. You will have the opportunity to gain experience in various aspects of care, from supporting physical health needs to engaging in therapeutic activities. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills within the field of forensic mental health.
Essential Qualifications : GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths and English . NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent is desirable, but we will consider relevant experience.
Experience : Previous experience in health or social care settings, particularly in mental health environments, is desirable. You must have a genuine interest in supporting people with mental health issues.
Skills : Strong communication skills, the ability to work as part of a team, and the capacity to maintain professional boundaries. Basic IT skills are required.
Personal Qualities : You must demonstrate emotional resilience, the ability to remain calm under pressure, and a commitment to caring for service users with compassion and respect.
Please Note: As this role is based on a male-only ward and involves working closely with male service users who may require support in personal care, physical health needs, and activities in a sensitive and secure environment, male applicants are preferred for this position under a genuine occupational requirement . This is in line with the Equality Act 2010, which permits a gender-specific requirement for roles where it is necessary for the position's nature or the nature of the services provided. The Trust is working to ensure a balance in staffing to meet the needs of male service users effectively and provide an appropriate environment for both staff and patients.
