Job Description
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about the world of horse racing? We are thrilled to announce an opening for a full-time Cadet Steward - Harness/Thoroughbred!
This entry-level position is your gateway to joining a dynamic and dedicated team within a forward-thinking racing environment.

A day on the job will include:
- Learning all aspects and procedures in starting, clerk of scales, judging and betting supervision.
- Carry out administration duties as directed by the Chief Steward
- Respond to telephone inquiries.
- Prepare for race meetings including, checking race form, brands and markings,
- Attend courses as designated and attend other code meetings when requested

This is a great opportunity to travel throughout regional WA, and after successfully completing the first six months of your training, you will be rewarded with a salary increase with further increases as you progress with a salary of $80,000+ super post completion. The commencement salary is $64,655 + super per annum increasing incrementally as you progress through the Cadet program.
Qualifications
About You
- Experience in an administrative office role
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of thoroughbred’s would be an advantage
- Knowledge and understanding of the racing and wagering industry would be an advantage
- Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound computer literacy skills – Microsoft Office / Windows environment
- Current Senior First Aid certificate would be an advantage
- Current ‘C’ class drivers’ licence
- Completion of Year 12
