Central Indexer - Remote in Farmington, CT

The Central Indexer is responsible for maintaining patients' health records, results / outcomes, and medical history. Main duties include filing patient information in the electronic health record, and maintaining patient documents within the appropriate folders and databases supporting our practice care teams and providers.
This position is full-time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to work our normal business hours of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM EST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime or weekends. Our office is located at 3 Farm Glen Blvd, Farmington, CT, 06032. This is a remote position with the option to work out of our administrative building in Farmington, CT.
We offer 2 weeks of paid on-the-job training. The hours of training will be aligned with your schedule.
All Telecommuters will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy.
Primary Responsibilities
- Index patient documents into Medical Records for all practice sites
- Indexing / filing into patient charts such documents as progress notes, lab reports, mail, etc.
- Indexing / filing patient charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Maintain knowledge of current OSHA regulations, practice policies, and standard workflows
- Assist coworkers as possible to assure smooth practice operation and delivery of excellent services through teamwork
- Support Central Services operations as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent work experience
- Basic computer knowledge
- Ability to work any 8-hour shift between the hours of 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM EST from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime and weekends based on business need
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- Healthcare office experience
- Reside within a commutable distance of 3 Farm Glen Blvd, Farmington, CT, 06032
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service
