Description
Reports to: Bayside Playhouse Centre Coordinator. Responsible for: Delivering and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene, providing a safe and clean environment. The cleaner will work independently to perform a variety of regular and one off cleaning tasks and duties as directed by the Centre Coordinator and/or Committee. Location: 3 Beaumont Street Sandringham 3191 Hours / Salary: 1hour per day, 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday during school terms. $30.00 per hour. * It is a requirement to have an ABN. Main Responsibilities Ensure the cleanliness of Bayside Playhouse & Occasional Care. Deliver duties as outlined on cleaners task lists & schedules. Maintain high and consistent cleaning standards Comply with Bayside Playhouse & Occasional Care health and safety policy and procedures at all times. Ensure safe storage of cleaning products Take initiative to perform cleaning and tidying tasks that are not specifically contained within the roster, but require attention as part of maintaining overall high standards of cleanliness and hygiene Liaise with the Centre Coordinator as required to ensure the cleaning operates smoothly Report cleaning supply requirements and stock levels to the Centre Coordinator Report equipment faults and damaged items to the Centre Coordinator. Identify and report improvement ideas for efficiency of day to day cleaning. Ensure that all are doors are closed and secure before leaving the premises Ensure that all lights are turned off before leaving the premises. Service to be delivered at times when children and young people are not on site. Participate in meetings when required. * The cleaner may be required to work additional hours. This will be negotiated in advance with the agreement of both parties Specific Duties Cleaning of all floors including mopping and vacuum cleaning Cleaning of all toilets including sinks, floors and mirrors. Set-up activities ready for the following session. Replace bin liners where necessary Damp dusting of all wooden furniture and shelves Additional hygienic cleaning of door handles, hand rails and chairs. Requirements Current Employee Working with Children Card Person Specification Knowledge: Some knowledge of Health & Safety Regulations, as they relate to the operation of cleaning equipment and the dilution of cleaning products. Experience of undertaking a range of cleaning duties. Personal Attributes Willingness to clean any area of Bayside Playhouse as requested by the management to take personal responsibility for the standard of work carried out to maintain confidentiality on all matters Cleaning Willingness to carry out some lifting tasks skills Ability to work effectively and support other staff members to work in an organised and methodical manner to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise to demonstrate commitment to equal opportunities to follow health and safety procedures Working Hours Requires a commitment of 1hour per day, 5 hours per week, Monday to Friday during school terms. Flexible hours of work may be arranged in consultation with the Centre Co ordinator
