This is varied and moderately difficult clerical work in the performance of a variety of office tasks requiring a good functional knowledge of departmental procedures and policies related to Purchasing, Inventory and/or Warehousing functions. An incumbent uses application software to import and format documents; creates links and other user aides; prepares, processes and circulates materials; composes correspondence; gathers information to document processes, maintains files, prepares statistical reports of some complexity; assists with fixed asset and surplus equipment disposal; prepares records, files, and reports and performs clerical tasks related to the work; create and update PO’s; reviews a variety of forms for accuracy, completeness, propriety of charges and conformance with departmental regulations. Assists persons seeking information regarding departmental policies, rules and regulations. The Clerk 3 will also work at Norland Scale Transfer site as required. Performs related work as required.
Qualifications include completion of Grade 12 preferably including or supplemented by courses in commercial subjects and bookkeeping and considerable related experience as a Clerk 2; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Considerable knowledge of the rules and regulations and operational needs which govern activities in the Procurement Services department. Sound knowledge of modern business office practices and procedures including the use of various application software packages (e.g., Microsoft Office and ERP systems such as SAP); of business English, spelling and arithmetic, and of record keeping. Ability to meet and deal tactfully and effectively with the public and to maintain harmonious working relationships with office staff; to use application software to import and format documents and create user aides. Skill in operating common office appliances. Courses in Supply Chain Management and knowledge of Auto Mechanics and Construction materials are considered an asset.
