GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY

The Leisure Services Department invites applications for a Casual Clerk/Receptionist at the
Quesnel & District Arts & Recreation Centre. Under the overall direction of the Recreation
Manager, the Clerk Receptionist will report to the Administrative Coordinator for day to day
operations.

Nature of Position

The Clerk/Receptionist plays a very important role as the first point of contact between the
general public (our customers) and Leisure Services.

Duties:

In this role, the Clerk/Receptionist is expected, among other duties, to

  • Address all telephone and in-person inquiries
  • Book facilities for customers
  • Process admissions and registrations
  • Prepare and sell concession items
  • Front office supplies/Concession orders


  • Locker administration
  • Bike rentals
  • Inputting prepared budgets into Excel spreadsheets
  • Kidsport/Jumpstart administration
  • Retail sales & ordering
  • MSDS collating
  • Monitoring facility headcounts
  • Ongoing sanitization procedures

Required Qualifications:

Knowledge, Skills and Education

As the ideal candidate, you will possess:

  • Minimum of Grade 12 education
  • Proficient in office software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience working with registration software programs such as Perfect Mind
  • Have exceptional customer service skills and highly motivated personality
  • Knowledge of switchboard etiquette
  • Ability to multi-task efficiently and work well under pressure
  • You are up-to-date with office procedures including laminating, photocopying and
trouble shooting
  • Must comply with all aspects of the Criminal Records Review Act.

Hours of Work

Normal hours of work as per Article 17 – HOURS OF WORK”. This position however consists
of varied shifts to include evenings, weekends and potential split shifts.

Interviews and job related tests may be required.
