NHS Scotland is committed to encouraging equality and diversity among our workforce and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The aim is for our workforce to be truly representative and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. To this end, NHS Scotland welcomes applications from all sections of society.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated junior/early career grade doctor to participate in a one year clinical fellowship in Public Health. This post is 0.2 (one day per week) and is designed to complement clinical work. Successful candidates will gain an insight into public health principles and prevention and learn how these can apply to everyday practice. We welcome applications from individuals considering a career in Public Health or those who are interested in gaining a wider understanding of health care services and population health improvement.
Topics will depend on the need of the department, but may include harm reduction for people with addictions, women’s health inequalities, new migrant screening and youth vaping.
This opportunity is open to junior or early career grade doctors currently working in NHS Ayrshire and Arran.
The location is flexible with an option for remote or office base working, with locations available to work across Ayrshire. The day of the week can also be flexible and discussed and agreed with supervisor.
If you would like further information about the post, please contact Megan MacPherson, Public Health Registrar [email protected] or Kelly Taylor Clinical Research Fellow in Public Health [email protected]
