About the role

Reporting into the Transport Team Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of stock to our Ryman Stores and Crewe and Hemel DCs This role is a mix between multi drops for stores and single drops for DCs. There will be an element of overnight work as part of the role and will be mainly Monday to Friday 40 hours per week with an opportunity of regular overtime.

Key Responsibilities include

• Ensuring Store deliveries are done on time and in full
• Delivering stock to Hemel DC and returning stock/returns to Crewe
• Building good relationships with our Store and DC colleagues
• Load your vehicle, including strapping the load for safety and security.
• Complete all relevant paperwork prior to departure.
• Ensuring Store deliveries are done on time and in full.
• Complete daily vehicle check to maintain all deliveries are on board and safely secured.
• Be able to communicate clearly and politely to stores and members of the public.
• Keep the vehicle clean and tidy ready for the next team to take over.
• Be able to navigate through a route, and aid the driver in logistical issues that may arise on the run.
• Open and close stores securely by using store keys and alarm codes to access, and make deliveries.
• Communicate with the depot and report any issues that may arise.
• Deal with situations, make positive, safe decisions, to arrive at a successful conclusion.
• When returning to the depot after successfully making all your deliveries, tip the vehicle of returns, rubbish from the store, and empty totes, pallet boards, placing them in the correct areas.
• Report to the transport office to be debriefed and submit all relevant paperwork.

• Experience in a similar role
• Have excellent writing skills to complete run sheets as you progress on the run.
• Be a team player.
• Have a can do attitude
• Good knowledge of the UK road network
• Good attention to detail
• A team player with a positive attitude towards work and colleagues
