Build your Aquaculture career with Tassal - Next intake will commence on 10th of February 2025

Secure a full-time position and embark on a comprehensive 6-week training program alongside fellow newcomers. This program is meticulously crafted to equip you with essential skills needed to excel as a Farm Attendant. Tassal offers prime locations across Tasmania for you to work. For the 6 weeks of training, you will work a Monday to Friday roster primarily out of our Channel Zone in Electrona, with a few days being in Hobart throughout.


What do you get in the 6-week training program?

  • Commencement of a Cert III in Aquaculture (12 months to complete)
  • A full time permanent position from commencement
  • Attainment of a Coxswains ticket, which will allow you to operate commercial boats
  • DMLA (Deck Machinery and Lifting Appliances) ticket
  • Hands on experience in crane operations, rope tying, fish-pen rigging and more
  • In-depth and comprehensive informational sessions on various departments within business – learn how it all works from the beginning
  • Development opportunities for you to build a career path in a fast growing industry
  • Tours of our Hatchery, Feed, and Processing facilities to learn about the whole process from egg to plate

What happens after the training?

You will join our marine operations crew on one of our farms as a valued member, committed to further training and gaining a Certificate 3 in Aquaculture.

  • Storm Bay, Nubeena
  • Okehampton

Do I need to have any experience?

No experience or tickets are required prior. If you have the right attitude, enjoy being on the water and have plenty of enthusiasm to succeed, we will teach you the skills.

Please note, you must be able to commit to full time work, 40 hours per week with the ability to work shift work if required (weekends, afternoons).
