You will carry out the daily work in connection to the bank measures to prevent and protect Ikano Bank and our customers from fraud. The role

The main responsibility of the Fraud Investigator is to analyze, scrutinize, and investigate potential fraud cases, ensuring that appropriate mitigating actions are taken to minimize any potential losses, and reporting to authorities when necessary. The Fraud Investigator will stay current with market trends and actively apply this knowledge to identify, investigate, and prevent instances of fraud. During fraud investigations, the investigator will collaborate with internal stakeholders, external partners, other financial institutions, collection agencies, and local authorities.

You will be part of the Nordic Fraud team, with your position based at Ikano Bank’s office in Asker, Norway, while collaborating closely with team members located across the Nordic region.

Main responsibilities:

  • Analyze and identify patterns and trends in local fraud cases.
  • Ensure the implementation and effectiveness of fraud prevention measures.
  • Conduct thorough, unbiased, and timely investigations into allegations of fraud within both B2B and B2C/D2C sectors.
  • Participate in forums and contribute to driving best practices in fraud prevention.
  • Secure and define requirements for the Nordic Fraud team in various projects.
  • Actively support and seek ways to align ways of working within the fraud prevention area across markets.
  • Spread fraud awareness and provide training to colleagues in other departments across the bank.

Required Background and Competencies:

  • Solid understanding of and hands-on experience with fraud investigations within the financial sector.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable Norwegian legislation and regulations.
  • Well-established network within fraud prevention.
  • Experience and in-depth understanding of the functionality of electronic ID solutions.
  • A strong commitment to fraud prevention and risk mitigation.
  • The ability to take a holistic view while also diving into the details when needed.
  • A strong moral compass, with a desire to combat fraud and illegal activities, contributing to the broader societal good and benefiting both individuals and the bank.
  • A team player who understands the importance of cross-functional collaboration and working across markets.
