ABOUT CHISWICK CINEMA
The Chiswick Cinema is an independent cinema in the heart of Chiswick and a first cinema-site for its owners, Trafalgar Entertainment. With 5 screens, bar, private screening room and dining/event space the cinema offers a unique and high-end customer-experience. Central to its success is a well-supported membership scheme, established from day-one; and a film and event programme which responds to the local needs.
THE ROLE:
Front Of House Team Member
We are seeking individuals who are customer-focused and committed to providing exceptional service to our members and guests. We’re looking for team members with a genuine passion for films, food, and outstanding customer care. This role offers variety: one day, you might be selling tickets and serving drinks at the bar; the next, you could be hosting in our Taycan Lounge. Our goal is to become an integral part of the local community, with customer service that reflects our commitment to excellence and connection.
Please note: All successful applicants must be available to work evenings and weekends
Duties:
- Providing world-class customer service, adding that personal touch and ensuring all our customers leave happy and wanting to return to us.
- Open and close all areas of the building safely and to the highest standard.
- Be knowledgeable about the cinemas offering and facilities.
- Cleaning the screens between each performance.
- Ensure you are aware of the product we are screening and the times of the films we are showing.
- Have knowledge on the film classifications, and ensure they are enforced.
- Ensure all screens are monitored for comfort levels and film piracy.
- Ensure all areas of the cinema are cleaned to a high standard throughout the day including screens, toilets and back of house areas.
- Ensure all supporting paperwork is completed and signed off by a Duty manager.
- Inform customers about the day’s specials
- Offer drink and snack recommendations upon request
- Up-sell additional products when appropriate
- Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software.
- Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
- Respond to customer complaints and queries and resolving them when you can.
- Be knowledgeable about the services and facilities Chiswick has to offer including the memberships.
- Ensure you process all transactions correctly and in line with company policy
- Guide customers to the right screens and seats where necessary
- Follow food hygiene policies and Health and safety practices
- If there are any breach of H&S policies, ensure management are informed
- Ensure all lost property is processed in the appropriate manner.
- Attend staff meetings
Person Specifications
- Exceptional and engaging customer service skills
- Passion for film and high-quality service
- Previous experience working with food and beverage essential.
- Weekend Availability including Friday evenings, Saturdays & Sundays.
