We are a privately owned, independent 4 Red Star Hotel and Spa. The successful candidate will be joining our dedicated Maintenance team at Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa. The Position

As a Gardener at Bedford Lodge Hotel & Spa, you will play a key role in maintaining our beautiful grounds to ensure an exceptional experience for our guests. Reporting to the Head Gardener you will support to plan, create and maintain the gardens to the highest possible standards.

The role will include caring for 5000m² of lawn across our 3-acre site, the maintenance of all plants from shrubs, summer beds, hanging baskets and rose gardens as well as the general upkeep of all communal garden spaces.

This is a full-time position (40 hours per week), working Monday Friday, 8am-4pm.

About You

You will be:

• Friendly and approachable with strong communication skills
• Proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• Physically fit and able to lift at least 25kg in accordance with Health & Safety guidelines and able to stand/walk for sustained periods.

You will have:

• A passion for horticulture and a knowledge of plants, trees, shrubs and lawn care
• Experience in a similar role
• A commitment to sustainability and a strong environmental focus in line with our Green Tourism Gold accreditation.
• A certificate of competency for the safe use of pesticides (PA1) desirable.
