Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM (negotiable)
Salary: $18-21/hour, depending on experience
Training: Included in first week:
- HR orientation
- 4 hrs for MAST permit training
- 4 hours for taps/facilities/teams training
Position Overview:
John I. Haas, Inc. (HAAS®) is seeking a Hospitality/Event Support Staff (Full-Time Temporary) to support us at our customer hop harvest activities.
This Hospitality/Event Support Staff will be responsible to open/close our hop selection lounge, greet brewer customers, coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, and Sensory on selection room needs, stock shelves with merchandise & snacks, pour beer, bus/clean tables, clean selection rooms, remove garbage from event spaces, coordinate catered meals, provide light set-up/tear-down, manage inventory, prepare shipping labels, other duties as assigned, etc.
This is an excellent, foot-in-the-door opportunity for individuals with hospitality- or agribusiness -interests, who are passionate about the hops & beers industries and are looking to contribute to a dynamic team. It provides ground-level, B2B event marketing experience in the hop industry, and is perfect for college students, recent graduates, those between careers, or even retirees.
Desirable traits: independent self-starter, hospitality-focused, enjoys ag/beer culture, flexible hours. WA state pouring license a plus, but if not a card holder, licensing course will be provided.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Services
- Greet and assist customers with hop selection check-in/check-out processes
- Respond promptly & courteously to guest inquiries & requests
- Provide information about the facility, teams, tours, products and services
- Cleanup & Housekeeping Assistance
- Dispose of waste and recycle materials in accordance with company policies
- Oversee and assist with the turnover and maintenance of event spaces, ensuring all equipment and materials are cleaned, stocked and the area is left in good condition
- Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to appropriate personnel
- Event Support
- Assist with setup, arrangement, & breakdown of event spaces, including furniture, decorations, and equipment
- Ensure all necessary supplies &materials are prepared and organized according to event requirements
- Logistical Support
- Coordinate with vendors, caterers, and other service providers to ensure timely delivery and setup of services
- Monitor and manage event schedules to ensure all activities proceed as planned
- Food & Beverage Support
- Pour from & maintain beverage taps
- Keep food & beverage shelves stocked; assist with catered meals
- Administrative & Operational Support
- Perform tasks such as setting up audio-visual equipment, managing registration, and overseeing event transitions
- Provide support during events, including managing crowd flow, replenishing supplies, and handling special requests
- Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other staff members to ensure a cohesive approach to guest services
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional hospitality or customer service training is a plus.
- Experience:
- Previous experience in a hospitality or customer service role preferred but not required.
- Experience in event support or administrative tasks is a plus.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on customer service.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in using standard office equipment and software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
- Additional Requirements:
- Flexibility to work evenings, holidays, and potentially extended hours as needed.
- Reliable transportation and the ability to work at various event locations as needed.
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
