We now have opportunities available for Health Care Assistants who are enthusiastic and self-motivated to join our team in the busy Surgical Ward, providing support to our Registered Nurses and working under direct supervision at all times when working with patients.

The successful applicant will have a positive manner, be able to work under direction, and contribute as part of a team in a very busy surgical environment. We require a minimum of one year's Health Care Assistant experience in an acute hospital setting.

At Waitakere Surgical Unit, we're dedicated to providing high-quality surgical services, including elective surgery and acute obstetrics. Our Operating Theatre Unit currently operates from Monday to Friday, 07:00 to 17:00, handling day surgery and elective obstetric procedures. We are also in the process of expanding our services to offer a broader range of surgical options to our community. Additionally, we provide a 24-hour, 7-day acute obstetric surgery service.
