LCCOS HR team are responsible for managing HR operational aspects all through employee lifecycle, facilitating all aspects of HR administration which includes full cycle recruitment and onboarding and interaction between the department and central HR services.
About the role
An enthusiastic and experienced generalist Human Resources professional is sought for the post of HR Operations Administrator in the Department of Library, Culture, Collections and Open Science (LCCOS). This is a full-time post, fixed term for 6-months in the first instance. The successful candidate will work within a small local HR team to support all HR related activities within the department, managing interactions between the department and UCL’s central HR and Recruitment teams. This includes full cycle recruitment, managing the on boarding of staff from induction through to probation, responding to MyServices requests within service level agreements and acting as the first point of contact for all HR-related staffing queries. In addition, the HR Administrator will provide advice and guidance on HR processes and policies and actively supporting managers and staff to follow appropriate HR procedures.
Please note, this is an internal secondment role to cover a maternity leave absence (6-months), available to current UCL staff only. Eligible UCL staff will have until 30/05/2025 to be considered for this role. The role will be working on a hybrid basis with 1-day every 2 weeks onsite at our Bloomsbury Science Library office plus any other days as required. Please note, all applications will be anonymised.
About you
As a HR professional, you have the experience and background working in a fast paced Generalist HR Higher Education sector providing full cycle HR functions and of implementing and advising on HR policies, procedures and processes effectively You should have the ability to work proactively to independently and manage own workload within a range of competing deadlines, with a high degree of accuracy in every aspect of work, ensuring GDPR compliance. Your approach to work is with integrity, proactive, flexibility, adaptability, legal compliance sensitivity and respecting confidentiality. Additionally, you have experience of managing full cycle recruitment, and initiatives to a high standard.
