Digital History Fellow
Position Summary
The Digital History Fellow will work directly with the park's Digital History Team to assist with all aspects of the park's digital public history. Member will be trained and work within the service-wide NPS digital platforms (CMS, NPGallery, NPMap, etc.) as well as the industry standard platforms for online content generation (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, digital audio recording and editing, and HTML/CSS/JavaScript). Member will engage in original research and content development to be shared on the park's digital platforms.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
This position will enable a participant to explore new content and skills, learn and strengthen public history and civic engagement skills, build professional networks, and explore career options within the National Park Service and associated organizations. Member will be asked to conduct original research and present on their findings for both the staff and the public, including at local colleges and/or teacher workshops, and on the park's digital platforms. Member will also work with internal Omeka S program and assist with the expansion of digital classroom projects. Member will secure rights and optimized digital images of source material (e.g., documents, photographs, artifacts) for integration into curated digital exhibitions, websites, and other platforms. Member will be involved in the park's App development as well and onsite digital kiosks, displays and other related technology. Member will provide technical and other support for the park's programming as well. Member will be responsible for website features and content development using the park's trove of materials in addition to original research. Working with interpretive staff, member may facilitate sessions at local universities and other institutions, including the Boston Public Library lecture series and programs in conjunction with the park's Education, Volunteer, and Youth Engagement program.
Marginal Duties
Member will provide support and content to other relevant work groups, including park youth programs, as well as reviewing and editing materials to ensure compliance with park and national standards as well as accessibility.
Required Qualifications
This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger. Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States. Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

- $675 - weekly living allowance
- Health Insurance
- AmeriCorps Education Award – eligible for 1700-hour award valued at $7,395.
