The International Student Advice Team (ISAT), based is Student Support Services are recruiting for an International Student Welfare and Attendance Adviser.
This is a permanent, part time, 0.8 FTE, appointment.
ISAT provide international students with support and advice, and work with the International Student Compliance Team (ISCT) to ensure students sponsored students fully attend and engage with their studies to ensure successful progression through their course.
The post holder will have responsibility for working with students who are having difficulties meeting the attendance and engagement requirement of their visa, assessing the primary reason for their lack of attendance, and either providing them with welfare support and guidance, or referring them on to the most appropriate support service.
This is a hybrid role and working hours are flexible.
You should have:
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification or substantial relevant work experience in a post with similar, general support/advice duties.
- Proven experience of giving high-quality advice and guidance to people who have complex and multi-dimensional needs.
- An interest in working with students from different cultures.

This role will not attract sufficient points to obtain a sponsored Skilled Worker visa under the points-based immigration system, however applications are welcome from candidates who don’t currently have the right to work in the UK, but who would be eligible to obtain a visa via another route.
