Position: Laboratory Assistant
Location: Greenslopes Private Hospital, Brisbane, QLD
Employment Type: Full-time (working 75 hours per fortnight)
Key Responsibilities
The work will involve sample sorting and processing in the pre-analytical area of the laboratory.
Some of the more specific responsibilities of the position will include:
- Specimen reception and data entry;
- Preparing samples for analysis;
- Assisting the scientific staff with automated instruments;
- General laboratory duties as required;
- Assisting in the internal courier where required; and
- Assisting with phone enquiries.
What we are looking for
To be successful in this role, you'll have excellent communication and organisational skills as well as high attention to detail to enable maximum accuracy of processing. A strong commitment to laboratory turnaround times is essential, with previous relevant laboratory experience highly regarded.
This is a perfect role for an enthusiastic individual who has a flexible approach to their work, as you will be required to work rostered shifts. The rotating roster involves shifts over a 24-hour period, along with weekend shifts and public holidays when fully trained.
You will also require good keyboard skills and the ability to work as a team member in this busy department.
