We are seeking a professional and caring individual to work closely between the Learning Support Department and wider curriculum departments to improve engagement and outcomes for pupils with SEND in their literacy skills, with a focus on KS3 and KS4.You will provide support for our highest need pupils, as well as working with the Director of Learning - English and School Literacy Lead to develop and deliver programmes of support and intervention for pupils with literacy barriers to learning.The successful candidate should have:
- Literacy and numeracy skills equivalent to NVQ Level 2 or GCSE Grade C in English and Maths
- Good literacy skills supported by relevant qualifications
- Deep understanding of literacy and its impact on learning
- Experience with SEN students or willingness to develop skills
- Ability to work with a minimum of supervision and within a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills
Contract: Part-time, permanentGrade: H5 (Full-time equivalent salary from £26,409 to £28,624 per annum, plus annual outer fringe allowance of £706)Hours:
- 27 hours per week across four days (Mondays to Thursdays)
- Term time plus 1 week
- Working hours: 8:30 am - 3:45 pm, including 30-minute unpaid lunch break (with free lunch on site)
Actual Salary: £16,924 to £18,307 per annum, inclusive of outer fringe allowance (i.e. roughly 0.62 of Full-time equivalent)We can offer:
