LIBRARIAN (MEDICAL)

Duties

• Searches biomedical (medical, nursing, dental, and allied health) databases such as PubMed or Ovid to retrieve literature to support patient care.
• Instructs physicians, residents, another health care professionals to teach how to search and use a variety medical library resource.
• Information and Communications Technology - Instructs health care providers on the search of databases remotely or via the command intranet.
• Improves the clinical medical library’s web presence, access, display, and the customer’s utilization of online and print support of clinical and research information resources across the enterprise.
• Educational and Professional Development - Ensures efficient operation of clinical medical library services and jointly develops and measures goals for the improvement of library services.
• Collaborates with other librarians on development, identification, implementation and improvement of information or knowledge based systems and services.
