About Us
At Hutt City Council our vision is to build a connected, resilient and inclusive city where all of our people thrive - Kia noho mai tēnei tāone hei pou herenga waka, hei pou herenga kaupapa, hei wāhi whai hua ki hōna iwi.
Our council has set out a bold and ambitious plan for us to achieve. We work hard to deliver the best outcomes for our communities, are flexible in our approach, and we're committed to creating an inclusive and progressive work environment for our staff.
About the role
This role provides customer-focused services and community-led support which responds to the diverse needs of the community, and increases the awareness of, and engagement with community hub services including library.
Right now, we have a great permanent opportunity - working Monday to Friday 9am-5:30pm. You will be working across the Eastbourne and Moera Neighbourhood Hubs, however, you may be required to work in one of our other Lower Hutt based Hubs on occasion.
Our Neighbourhoods & Communities group works alongside the community to maintain active and vibrant networks, both within Council and across our shared spaces. This group aims to enhance the impact of our collective efforts for the communities we serve.
About You
We are looking for an innovative and community focused person with a can-do attitude and passion for developing and supporting library programmes and hub services. You will have an outstanding customer service and community-led development ethos, with the ability to work alongside a diverse range of people of all ages and from every part of our community.
You might have a library qualification or have loads of expertise in a related field like book retailing, teaching, adult learning, digital literacy, social work or youth development.
A career with Hutt City Council offers you the satisfaction of contributing to your community, while working with likeminded people. Here at Hutt City Council, we're committed to providing opportunities for growth and development, while supporting a healthy work-life balance. If this sounds like the perfect fit, we'd love to hear from you.
