Library Assistant - 2 Posts
Perks & Benefits:
Directorate: Place
Hours: Post 1 - 11.5 hours a week at Alvaston Library and Post 2 - 19 hours a week at Riverside Library
Contract Type: Permanent
Location: Alvaston and Riverside Libraries
We are looking to recruit two Library Assistants within our network of libraries across the city. Alvaston Library is a library which serves it’s local community and Riverside Library is a busy city-centre library located in the Council House. As with all Derby’s libraries, the focus at both of these libraries is on promoting reading, providing internet access and improving wellbeing.
Both libraries host regular Rhymetimes, Storytimes and Code Clubs, so the confidence and ability to engage with – and promote reading to – children are key. The libraries also host regular activities for adults, including Adult Literacy classes, coffee mornings, Job Clubs and IT Taster sessions. Experience and a strong knowledge of IT are essential, as is the confidence and ability to support others using IT.
