Mill Support Specialist
Position Description:
The Processing Plant Support Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the supervisors, planning, and the mill management team. The incumbent will handle various administrative, project planning, and inventory control duties, with a significant focus on utilizing SAP system.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation, management and maintenance of SAP relevant to mill operations
- Enter and update data in SAP including work orders to ensure accurate and up-to-date records
- Generate reports and analyze data from SAP to support decision-making processes
- Support shift supervisors, planning and mill management with administrative tasks including both SAP and Element
- Support the planning and execution of processing plant projects
- Assist in the development and monitoring of project schedules and timelines
- Coordinate with various departments to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
- Perform general administrative tasks, including filing, data entry, and document management.
- Prepare and distribute correspondence and reports, assisting with report generation as required
- Manage the procurement of materials and supplies required for mill operations
- Maintain accurate inventory records and perform regular stock checks
- Facilitate effective communication within the department and between other departments
- Address and resolve any administrative issues or concerns promptly
- Perform other related duties as required to support the smooth functioning of mill operations
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to process optimization Prepare presentations and reports as required
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in business administration, project management, or related fields are preferred
- Certificate/ Diploma level in Business Administration or similar will be viewed favourably
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an administrative or support role, preferably in a mining or industrial environment
- Proficiency in SAP is essential; strong MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) are required, Element experience is an asset
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff in the organization including management
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support colleagues as needed
