Duties
As anOffice Support Assistant you will:
- Assist specialists or analysts by performing a defined segment of their work either as a completed action or as a foundation for further operations.
- Perform preliminary analysis of information gathered on a specific project or assignment to facilitate more in-depth analysis by higher-level personnel.
- Gather data, identifies inaccuracies or anomalies in the information, prepares reports, and acts or makes recommendations to resolve discrepancies consistent with normal practice or based on interpretation and adaptation of applicable regulations.

Key Requirements:
- Must be U.S. Citizen or U.S. National.
- A one-year probationary period may be required.
- Must successfully complete a background investigation.
- Public Trust - Background Investigation will be required.
- All new hires will be required to comply with federal ethics laws. A review of financial or other interests may be conducted to determine if they create any real or apparent conflict of interests with official Treasury duties.
- Complete a Declaration for Federal Employment to determine your suitability for Federal employment, at the time requested by the agency.
- Have your salary sent to a financial institution of your choice by Direct Deposit/Electronic Funds Transfer.
- If you are a male applicant born after December 31, 1959, certify that you have registered with the Selective Service System or are exempt from having to do so.
- Go through a Personal Identity Verification (PIV) process that requires two forms of identification from the Form I-9. Federal law requires verification of the identity and employment eligibility of all new hires in the U.S.

Qualifications
Specialized experience for the GS-08: You must have one (1) year of specialized experience that has equipped you with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-07 level in the Federal service, public or other private sectors. Specialized experience for this position includes all of the following:
- Maintaining an electronic file, such as, ensuring documents are received and transmitted to the relevant parties, records are properly scanned and successfully uploaded into the tracking system, etc.; AND
- Assisting specialists with analysis of information; AND
- Preparing letters or correspondence.

Category rating will be used to rank and select eligible candidates. If qualified, you will be assigned to one of three quality level categories: Category A (highest quality category), Category B (middle quality category), or Category C (minimally qualified category), depending on your responses to the online questions, regarding your experience, education, and training related to this position. Your rating may be lowered if your responses to the online questions are not supported by the education and/or experience described in your application.
