Pharmacy Assistant L1 | CareRx Parksville
Reporting To: Pharmacy Operations Manager
Compensation: $18 - 22 per hour
Actual pay rate will be based on the individual candidate's credentials and experience for the role with CareRx.
The Pharmacy Assistant, Level 1 supports the efficient functioning of the pharmacy and assists in the dispensing of medications, working under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Manager. They provide superior customer service in a friendly, knowledgeable and professional manner and focuses on the achievement of pharmacy excellence in the areas of customer service, workflow efficiencies, and inventory management. The Pharmacy Assistant, L1 primarily supports the pharmacy in the production department.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
- Packaging medications (i.e., blister packs, vials, strips)
- Receiving and sending inventory orders
- Managing inventory
- Restocking shelves with medications
- Prepares compounds, creams, liquids.
- Labelling
- Synchronizing data with our PacMed machine
- Processing refills in Kroll
- Running PacMed machine
- Completing corrections of medication rolls through PacVision
- Organizing and coordinating deliveries to shipping
- Monitoring medication expiration dates and assisting with disposal of expired or unused medications
- Preparing compounds, creams, liquids, etc.
- Contributing to the overall organization and cleanliness of the pharmacy environment
- Day-to-day maintenance of our pharmacy operations both independently and in cooperation with teammates.
Other duties will be assigned as required for business needs within the Pharmacy Assistant scope of responsibilities.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
- This is an entry level position, previous experience is not required.
- Working knowledge of Kroll and eMAR systems is an asset.
- Competency with Microsoft Office software is an asset.
- Ability to operate PACMed and PACVision machines is an asset.

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Pharmacy experience is an asset.
- Post-Secondary Diploma or Degree in a related program, or relevant experience
