Summary:

The Production Supervisor plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in production by performing the following duties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Studies production schedules and estimates staffing, duty assignments and inventory requirements.
  • Develops a process plan including people, resources, equipment, and floor space.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Coordinates manpower requirements by increasing or decreasing personnel and overtime to meet changing conditions.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Responds to grievances accordingly and works with team, and Production Manager to discuss and eliminate problems.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Actively participates in safety policies, activities and implementations
  • Manages and directs a return to work and light duty program for injured employee.
  • Works with production and maintenance managers to design and develop ergonomically correct equipment.
  • Acquires knowledge of Trident’s Environmental and Safety Policies by completing required training programs and performing designated work activities in accordance with training and procedures/work instructions
  • Notifies designated personnel of any environmental or safety incidents or risks not previously documented, in accordance with Environmental Awareness and/or safety trainings

This is a salaried exempt position with an annualized salary range of $68,000 to $73,000.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • One to three years of experience in a manufacturing production environment with specific experience managing the production lines.
  • Basic computer skills required. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Must have excellent written and oral communications ability.
  • Required to speak effectively before groups of senior management, subcontractors, and/or employees of the organization.
  • Use of basic reasoning, thinking “on your feet”, and ability to resolve issues quickly with little or no direction from a superior.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule format.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Food industry experience preferred.
  • At least three years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing production environment with specific experience managing production lines.

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee is frequently required to climb or balance.
  • The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
