Job Title: Quality Control Technician I

Location: Lexington, MA

About the role:

As the Quality Control Technician I, you will provide operational support for the Manufacturing and QC GMP functions, both for cross-functional teams and for core laboratory operations support. You will also focus on support activities such as environmental monitoring, critical utility sampling, sample transport, and general laboratory support. You will report to the Quality Control Manager.

How you will contribute:

• Focus on aspects related to EM sampling including high quality water systems, cleanroom environments, and gases (in the field in manufacturing, utility, and laboratory locations), transporting of samples, some limited support testing, coordination of related activities that tie in with Environmental Monitoring.
• Provide operational support activities such as in-field sampling/inspections, sample management, records management, EM area housekeeping activities and lab support duties, data review.
• Provide support of document generation, such as sampling procedures, sample transport procedures, maintenance of GMP documentation.
• Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature where deviation from accepted practice is required.
• Apply job skills and our policies and procedures to complete a variety of tasks.
• Contacts are within immediate work unit. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information requiring little explanation or interpretation from individual.

What you bring to Takeda:

• Requires a high school diploma and a minimum of 0-2 years related experience (Higher degrees may reduce the minimum years' experience required).
• Little or no knowledge of the job. Moderate understanding of general job aspects and some understanding of the detailed aspects of the job.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), Trackwise, and EDMS.
• Travel between the MA sites is expected on a routine basis. A valid driver's license is required as sample transport may include driving a company vehicle.

Important Considerations

At Takeda, our patients rely on us to deliver quality products. As a result, we must follow strict rules in our manufacturing facilities to ensure we are not endangering the quality of the product. In this role, you may:

• Work in a controlled environment requiring special gowning and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body. This may include additional hearing protection for loud areas.
• Ability to lift, pull, or push equipment requiring 50lbs of force.
• Repetitive bending and reaching to setup and break-down equipment.
• Ability to climb ladders and work platforms.
• Ability to work around chemicals.
• Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, gowning, and respiratory protection in some cases.
• Ability to walk and stand for periods of time.
• Need to remove all make-up, jewelry, contact lenses, nail polish and/or artificial fingernails while in the manufacturing environment.
• Work in a cold, wet environment.
• Work multiple shifts, including weekends, or be asked to work supplemental hours, as necessary.
• Work around chemicals such as alcohol, acids, buffers and Celite that may require respiratory protection.
