- Perform experiments including in vitro and in vivo (mice) experiments, following, writing and adapting SOPs, maintaining detailed records of results, using software to analyze data, work independently and as part of the lab team.
- Assist with training others on techniques and lab equipment, helping trainees with projects and signing of trainees on SOPs.
- Create a culture of safety in the CL3 facility and the lab working with Level 2, 2+ and 3 pathogens and maintaining training and stock records.
- Keeping the lab clean and safe, maintaining equipment, ordering, scheduling use, preparing reagents, disposing of waste, keeping inventory, shipping/receiving.
- Coordinating with other labs/groups to include timely responses to emails and follow up.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Science (Immunology/Microbiology preferred or a related discipline) with minimum 2 years of work experience (MSc will be considered as work experience).
- High attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs.
- Ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
- Related work experience.
- Experience with animal work, immunology techniques (flow cytometry).
- Prior work with CL2, CL2+ and CL3 pathogens.
- Knowledge in immunology/virology/basic science.
- Experience mentoring students.
