Research Assistant, Molecular Diagnostics (m/f/d)

The role, within the assay development team, will contribute to the design and development of lab-based and POC molecular diagnostic solutions for infectious diseases, using the pulse-controlled amplification (PCA) core technology. HP Health Solutions Germany, located in the science hotspot Martinsried near Munich, is a subsidiary of HP Inc. and develops diagnostic instruments and assays for ultrafast detection of pathogens.
Responsibilities
- Execute complex multivariable experimental research studies and provide support for data analysis 
- Execute experiments and support data analysis for routine, monitoring and stability studies 
- Support lab management, material, and equipment monitoring 
- Support line manager with experimental design activity and with completion and release of protocols 
- Support the manager in the planning and execution of work packages 
- Support development, design freeze, and verification of diagnostic tests 
- Support the execution of development and verification studies 
- Communicate effectively with line manager and team members 
- Comply with quality standards (ISO13485); adhere to good laboratory practice guidelines, support continuous improvement of protocols and procedures. Adhere to activity, data, and results traceability systems. 
Education and Experience
- Technical certification, Bachelor or equivalent research experience is required 
- Laboratory Experience in a clinical, academic, or industrial environment is desirable 
- Knowledge of most common molecular biology and biochemistry methods is required 
- Knowledge and experience with multiplexed PCR and qPCR or isothermal amplification is desirable 
- Self-motivating, and a self-driven work ethic 
- Strong ability to work in a team 
- Reliable, flexible, and available to accommodate shifts in working hours when required 
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively 
- Software proficiency with basic text, data, and presentation tools 
- Fluent in English

The assay development team focuses on the design, development, and verification of molecular tests for the diagnosis of human infectious diseases. Our activity sits on a multidisciplinary crossroads between biochemistry, molecular biology, mechanics, optics, and software technology and requires a multifaceted approach to product development. We aim to support the development of molecular tests for a faster and more accurate diagnosis.
