Research Associate in cell culture, protein expression, molecular cloning synthetic biology (Fixed Term)

The Mateo Sanchez lab, located in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, is seeking one postdoctoral research associate.
The researcher will work on the development of molecular tools for the mapping and manipulation of active neuronal circuits underlying specific behaviours. Specifically, we are looking for someone with a strong background in molecular and synthetic biology, with an emphasis on protein engineering. Experience in neuroscience and optogenetics will be highly desirable.
The successful applicant will have (or be about to obtain) a PhD in a relevant subject. The applicant is expected to develop new ideas and concepts in the areas outlined below in collaboration with the PI, by combining expertise with the core capabilities of the lab. The candidate is expected to work on projects as part of a team, and communicate the results clearly.
