Security Officer

Process staff ID badges and access cards, and update details on the computer system following receipt of completed authorisation documentation and appropriate checks. Carry out physical security patrols both internal and external, to include carparking areas providing protection for buildings and properties. To lock/unlock buildings and departments on a daily basis. Monitor the issuing and receiving of departmental keys log details asapplicable.

Maintain a log of incidents; make written reports of incidents and crime using a note book system, and transfer entries onto Security service logging system, Immediately reporting a crime or serious incident. Provide assistance and direction to members of the public. Receive reports of lost property and accept found personal property for safe keeping and maintain register of lost and found property. Take active steps to trace owners and restore their property.

To provide written reports, witness statements to the police. May be required to attend magistrates or Crown court to give evidence as applicable.
