Server

Position Summary: A Server is responsible to ensure that guests have an enjoyable dining experience by providing quality service. Servers work in the front of the business taking orders, serving food and drinks, and removing dinnerware from the table in a timely manner.

Pay for this position is $17.40 per hour plus gratuities.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

• Setup dining room for breakfast and/or dinner service.
• Take food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
• Write patrons' food orders on order slips, memorize orders, or enter orders into computers for transmittal to kitchen staff.
• Engage with customers in a friendly manner.
• Knowledge of the food and drink menus, with ability to make suggestions.
• Ensure customers are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
• Collect payments from customers.
• Prepare checks that itemize and total meal costs and sales taxes.
• Sets tables before customers are seated and helps clean tables off when customers have finished their meals.
• Duties will evolve as you become more familiar with Food & Beverage operations.
• Co-operate and accept other assignments as and when required.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills:

• British Columbia Serving-It-Right
• General knowledge of alcoholic drinks and mixes.
• Ability to provide great customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with bussers, cooks and other staff.
• Able to perform high quality work while unsupervised.
• Able to handle money accurately and operate a point-of-sale system.
• Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food and drinks frequently.
• Willing to follow instructions and ask questions for clarification if needed.
• Able to work in a busy restaurant environment.
