Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties safely and have a personal commitment to working safely at all times. Must follow all PPE policies and required use.

  • Will not deviate from prescribed written safety and process directions and procedures as trained.

  • Works with and understands safe operation of all maintenance hand tools.

  • Has or is able to learn and obtain a grasp of mechanical drive components including bearings and drives, chain drives, belt driven equipment, pumps, and blowers in the first 6 months.

  • Has or is able to learn and obtain a grasp of valve and valve operators, including solenoid and pilot operated actuated valves in the first 6 months.

  • Has or is able to learn and obtain a grasp of electrical systems including electric drive controls, electronic control signal components such as temperature control, pressure control, PLC I/O control and PLC function.

  • Learns and becomes proficient in Bard safety routine and non-routine procedures during the first 6 months.

  • Learns and becomes proficient with Sterilization processes and procedures during the first 6 months.

  • Demonstrate proficient learning ability to be capable of working unaccompanied after the 6-month training period.

  • Provides assistance to all other maintenance staff members and works as part of team while performing maintenance PM and repair activities.

  • Performs routine maintenance tasks learns and performs process equipment PM’s.

  • Performs routine maintenance calibration tasks, learns and performs calibrations on process equipment.

  • Detects and reports defective parts/materials, equipment maintenance needs or questionable equipment/facility/procedure conditions to the department supervisor.

  • Performs general facility maintenance and housekeeping tasks as advised.

  • Maintains the work area, maintenance shop, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety and 5S regulations.

  • Responsible for maintaining assigned housekeeping areas

  • Helps and monitors the MRO part inventories and notifies maintenance lead person when order inventory level is reached and/or when last part is removed.

  • Performs maintenance repair activities on Work Orders as assigned.

Requirements:

  • This position may require weekend, swing or night shift working hours after training period.

  • This position may require working at both the Covington and Madison facilities as scheduled during the work week.

  • This position will require being placed on the weekend call rotation and listed on a general on call list. Pay rules will apply to all call in events.

Minimum Requirement:

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Industrial Maintenance or Machine experience (2years or more)

  • General mechanical knowledge & ability to work with hands

  • Ability to climb ladders, crawl & lift heavy objects up to 50 lb

  • To be open for new training & certifications such as arc flash & predictive maintenance techniques
