Overview

We seek a dedicated and hardworking individual to join our team as a Stockroom Clerk. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks to support our company's daily logistics needs. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and working effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity working a daytime 8-hour shift.


Duties

  • Dispensing Materials: Accurately dispense items and materials to internal departments based on requisition requests or production schedules.
  • Transferring Items Between Facilities: Use a company vehicle to transport items and materials between different facilities, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels, track stock movements, and update inventory records regularly.
  • Receiving Shipments: Inspect incoming materials for quality and accuracy, verify shipments against purchase orders, and document receipt of goods.
  • Storage and Organization: Properly store materials and supplies in designated locations to ensure easy access and efficient use of space.
  • Stock Replenishment: Coordinate with the purchasing department to reorder stock as needed and ensure that inventory levels meet production requirements.
  • Quality Control: Check for damaged or defective items and report any discrepancies to management or the quality control team.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and update stockroom records, including inventory logs, order histories, and transaction documents.
  • Mail Collection: Pick up mail from the post office and distribute it appropriately within the facility.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines, including proper handling of materials, use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean and organized work area.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate stockroom equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and barcode scanners, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production, procurement, and other departments to support smooth operations and address supply chain issues.
  • Customer Service: Assist internal departments and respond to stock availability and order status inquiries.
  • Cycle Counting: Conduct regular cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Truck Scale Operation: Operate the truck scale to accurately weigh incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring compliance with weight regulations and recording weights as needed.


Requirements

  • High-school diploma, GED or equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various environmental conditions.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Proficiency in using standard office software and tools, including email, spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets), and word processing (e.g., Microsoft Word or Google Docs). Experience with inventory management software or ERP systems is preferred but not required. The ability to perform basic data entry, update records, and generate simple reports is essential.
  • Good communication skills
  • Good time management skills; ability to work independently
  • Safety focus (Personal protective equipment [PPE] required in manufacturing facilities)
  • Prior experience operating fork-truck lifts is preferred
  • A solid desire to learn on the job is a plus
  • Prior experience working in a warehouse or other logistics operation is preferred
