We are looking to welcome new, engaging store assistants to join our fantastic team at IKEA Southampton where it is a "Wonderful Workday".
Work areas will include checkouts, sales & warehouse sales.
Expected Starting Date: 14th August 2024
WHAT WE OFFER
- £12.00 basic hourly rate
- Living Wage Foundation Employer
- Flexibility on availability to be discussed during interviews
- Working between 10am - 9:30pm approx. 4 to 6 hours daily.
We have a combination of contracts sizes starting from 12hrs to 20hrs per week, including weekend only contracts. This will involve working dayshifts, evening shifts and weekends. (both weekend days) and all our part time contracts will receive every 4th weekend off.
We operate 7 days a week to meet the shopping needs of our customers, this role will require availability to work during the day, late evenings, and full weekends.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
The ideal candidate will have a passion to ensure our customers have an amazing shopping experience, an eagerness to learn and embrace change with a solution-orientated approach to the many challenges and tasks that present themselves. You will have the ambition to grow within IKEA and to help develop others too. Previous experience in a sales or customer service environment is desirable.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
SALES
- Build loyalty by listening to our customers & using your knowledge of IKEA product range offer informed solutions.
- You keep your area of responsibility clean, tidy, priced and fully stocked, and ensure that the IKEA basic merchandising standards are in place at all times to give customers a positive shopping experience
- You actively approach customers to identify their needs and advise them on the best solutions for their life at home through home furnishings.
CUSTOMER RELATIONS
You aim to create a positive experience for our customers, so they will want to return and shop with us again over time. Provide an efficient and accurate checkout experience in the store while working with daily and weekly service targets to drive service delivery. You work together with colleagues in other functions to support the customer experience.
