Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for both short- and long-term supply planning and order placement to meet manufacturing requirements.
  • Knowledge and experience in Supply Chain Management
  • Order placement includes determining requirements, determining EOQ, planning truck or container loads, and tracking inbound logistics through to delivery
  • Work with supplier, carrier and logistics as needed to expedite deliveries.
  • Accountable to ensure materials demands are met, working with Operations and Sourcing to providing alternatives plans or substitutions as needed to compensate for shortages, rejections, new priorities and related problems
  • Drive total cost of ownership through enforcement and use of national agreements, supplier relationship management on issues and inventory requirements, and active dialog with operations to identify opportunities and risks
  • Directs and controls the activities of the planning team. Has contact with all levels of company employees. Negotiates and exchanges information with all levels of management. Receives technical and functional input as appropriate. This position requires the ability to lead the implementation of planning processes, act as a change agent, coach and develop others as well as setting operational support objectives.
  • Manage and optimize OTIF for the raw material flow into manufacturing environment with fixed customer service requirements.
  • Serve as system expert for AX ERP supply planning providing training and coaching to the planning team as needed.

Supplier Management and Cost Saving

  • Work with Sourcing, supplier and plant inventory specialists for resolution of issues pertaining to pricing, on time deliveries, fill rates, quality and specifications. Support CR Compliance team in root cause identification for supplier service performance tracking.
  • Liaison to ensure collaboration and on-going communication between Sourcing Replenishment, Operations for negotiations and inventory or supply resolutions
  • Work with Sourcing, Operations and Logistics to use fact-based data in efforts to reduce total cost of ownership. Participate in Sourcing initiatives and supplier reviews
  • Lead Planning process improvement efforts to optimize the manufacturing engine
  • Responsible for developing and reporting of department KPI's

Inventory Accuracy

  • Implement resolutions to any material issues that may affect safety, quality or productivity for all facilities
  • Work closely with SIOP and manufacturing to maintain the appropriate levels of inventory.
  • Responsible to ensure procurement process disciples impacting inventory accuracy. This includes management of open order file, open supplier quality claims, cycle counting, and timely floor reporting. Ensure the accuracy of lead time and sourcing table, supplier contact lists and pricing tables

Operational Support and Project management

  • Lead and/or participate in sourcing projects and operational projects involving cross-functional team members from multiple facilities.
  • Active participation in key operational calls including but not limited to PCR reviews, weekly operations meetings, supplier scorecard reviews and CARB
  • Team Leader - Support the centralized planning team and standards by preparing knowledge aids, tools and templates. Identify opportunities for team process and efficiency improvements. Help to optimize the entire procure to pay (P2P) process from point of initial need to payment of the suppliers.
  • Performs other responsibilities as assigned by the Director - Central Procurement

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years business experience
  • Bachelor's in supply chain management
  • Function in a global and matrix organization
  • Advanced knowledge in Supply Planning (Master Production Scheduling, Materials Requirement Planning, Capacity Planning) processes
  • Advanced skills in SQL, Tableau, and Microsoft Power BI preferred
  • Advanced skills in Access and Excel, including complex pivoting and data mining
  • Driver of Teamwork/Collaboration
  • Strong analytical thinker and influential communicator

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters Supply Chain Management preferred
  • APICS Certification preferred

Competencies:

  • Direct management of staff and mentoring teams of sourcing / supply chain professionals.
  • Extensive knowledge of manufacturing environment and strong process knowledge and persistence to drive change management initiatives.
  • Strong commodity knowledge of wood / glass / plastics / chemicals, this includes both domestic and import supply sources.
  • Understanding of and experience managing the total cost of ownership
  • Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with key business partners and work across all levels within the organization.
  • Able to work efficiently as part of a team as well as independently
  • Ability to analyze data to determine actions and effective in problem solving.
  • Previous experience of process improvements utilizing Lean Manufacturing/Kaizen techniques
  • Knowledge of laws, ordinances, and regulators pertaining to corporate purchasing practices
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with advance competency in Microsoft applications; Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Outstanding organizational/planning and interpersonal skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly respond to changing needs by reallocating and/or managing resources accordingly.
  • Accuracy in performing all functions of this position; errors in work could result in significant production delays, insufficient or overstocked inventory levels, additional costs, and dissatisfied customers.
